Beijing Gets a World of Warcraft-Themed Restaurant

Trading card games, board games, comics, a South Park episode — World of Warcraft has invaded many parts of our lives no one ever expected it to. One businessman in China has decided that none of that is enough, choosing to open a restaurant in Beijing that is designed entirely around World of Warcraft and the game’s old opening cinematic.
Inside The Hall of Snow Storms — the fancy name for the restaurant’s dining area — are walls decorated with images from WoW, guards in Alliance-looking armor, and a giant TV showing footage from the game. Food bearing the name of WoW’s inhabitants comprise the menu. The owner is a big fan of the game and wanted to provide a place for his fellow WoW enthusiasts to gather, according to CCTV.com.
MMOs are a major business in Asia, so it wouldn’t be shocking to discover that the owner will make a fair bit of money off this venture. Of course, there is the issue of copyright infringement to tackle, though it remains to be seen if anything will develop on that front. For more images, check out CCTV International.
